Royal Wedding: Household Cavalry Guard proposes to girlfriend while on horse

Household Cavalry (Pic:AP)

A corporal of the British armed forces' cavalry regiment proposed to his girlfriend today while mounted on his horse for the royal wedding procession.

Staff Corporal Darren Daniels, of the Life Guards Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, popped the question to girlfriend Keryl Jones, in full ceremonial uniform as he rode out of Hyde Park Barracks.

The 36-year-old from Preston said he had been planning to ask for Ms Jones's hand in marriage since the royal wedding was announced last year and had a ring ready for the occasion.

Ms Jones, 35, from Watford, delighted Staff Cpl Daniels and onlookers gathered this morning by accepting.

Relieved at her answer, the husband-to-be said: "I was nervous as hell but just delighted she said yes."

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment is a ceremonial cavalry regiment of the British Army. It is classed as a regiment of guards, and carries out mounted ceremonial duties on state and royal occasions.

Both William, who has taken on the new title of Duke of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, served in the household's other regiment, the Blues and Royals, as cornets after graduating from Sandhurst military academy.

Prince Harry wore an officer's uniform of the Blues and Royals for the service.

Keira Knightley plays bridesmaid at her brother's wedding ceremony

Keira Knightley plays bridesmaid at her brother's wedding ceremony

Less than a week before the Royal wedding, Keira Knightley got into the spirit by playing bridesmaid at her brother’s ceremony today.

The actress arrived at the venue in Glasgow to witness Caleb, 32, marry his designer fiancée Kerry Nixon in front of family and friends.

The 26-year-old Pride and Prejudice star looked lovely in an above-the-knee purple bridesmaid dress, which tied up at the shoulders and boasted a V-neck cut.

Her frock was accompanied by simple black heels and a minimalist hairdo, which appeared to have not been styled.

Meanwhile, the bride seemed to be inspired by the 1950s when choosing her gown, which was a long-sleeved cream dress.

She has been dating Righton for two months, after being introduced by their mutual friend Alexa Chung.

Her new relationship came after splitting with ex-boyfriend of five years, Rupert Friend, just before Christmas.

Keira’s mother is Scottish, so it is no surprise that the family chose the wedding venue in Glasgow, where some family members decided to wear traditional kilts.

Despite having a starring role in her older sibling’s big day, Keira will have to quickly jet back to London after the ceremony to appear in The Children’s Hour in the West End on Monday night.

The actress returned to the London stage to take part in the production which sees her character and co-star Elisabeth Moss run a girls’ boarding school in 1930s New England.

They soon become entangled in a devastating story of deceit, shame and courage in the Ian Rickson-directed production.

But before flying back to London, Keira will no doubt take part in the festivities tonight to celebrate her brother’s special day.

Miranda Kerr back modelling skimpy bikinis with no trace of baby weight just three months after giving birth

She only gave birth to son Flynn just over three months ago - but Miranda Kerr is already back to work as a Victoria's Secret model and barely showing on ounce of extra baby weight.

The Australian beauty had her and partner Orlando Bloom's first child on January 6 and he was a whopping 10lbs - but she showed she'd pinged back into shape during the sizzling photoshoot in Malibu, California.

The 28-year-old was spotted on boulders at the beachside location in two different bikinis for the label, one tiny black two-piece and one a string-tie print.

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith leave the White House after daughter Willow's Easter Sunday soundcheck

She may only be a mere slip of a thing at the tender age of 10, but already Willow Smith is moving in political circles.

President Barack Obama's, to be precise, who invited the young chart star to take part in this year's Easter celebrations at the White House.

Willow was among the line-up of artists who performed at the Presidential home in Washington D.C yesterday as part of the annual festivities.

And her famous family  - father Will, mother Jada Pinkett and brother Jaden - were right by her side to show their support.

If she was nervous about it in any way, she certainly didn't show it as she and the Smith clan left the White yesterday morning after her morning soundcheck.

She seemed relaxed as she hugged and kissed a friend outside before heading off to her hotel to get ready for the afternoon celebrations.

Willow, who is best known for her hit song Whip My Hair, was just one of the performers asked by President Obama and his wife Michelle to perform at the 133rd annual event held on the South Lawn.

Country and folk singer Colbie Caillat was also on the bill and she kicked off proceedings by singing the National Anthem.

Michael Buble and wife Luisana's newlywed bliss on romantic Venice gondola ride

Michael Buble and wife Luisana's newlywed bliss on romantic Venice gondola ride

It is widely regarded as one of the most romantic cities in the world, and therefore a favourite destination among honeymooners.

Michael Bublé and his new wife Luisana Lopilato looked like the picture of newlywed bliss in Venice yesterday, where, like so many others, they have decided to spend their honeymoon.

The Canadian crooner and his Argentine wife lapped up the romance with an intimate gondola ride at sunset in the picturesque Italian city.

As they were ferried about in the water by a gondolier dressed in classic stripes and a straw hat, Michael cradled Luisana's head against his shoulder and kissed her forehead tenderly.

Luisana, 23, closed her eyes as she snuggled in against her 35-year-old husband as he stroked her hair.

The weather in Venice is in the mild low twenties Celsius, and the couple kept warm as the sun went down with a red blanket.

They looked like any other tourists as they took in the sights on the boat ride, a favourite with Venice visitors that costs between 40 and 100 euros.

Model, actress and singer Luisana wore a grey jumper decorated with pearls in a bow pattern on her shoulder, while Michael looked sharp in a blazer and black T-shirt and ripped jeans.

Crazy In Love singer Michael appears exactly that, and was in high spirits as they arrived back at his luxury hotel - he waved and blew kisses to fans and photographers.

While the iconic city's famed romantic setting would have been inspiration for the couple's choice in honeymoon destinations, Bublé also has links to the region; His family are from the small town of Preganziol, about 20 kilometres outside Venice.

Michael and Luisana married on March 31 in a civil ceremony in Buenos Aires followed by a lavish religious ceremony at a mansion for 300 guests a few days later.

But despite taking off on the honeymoon this week, their celebrations are not yet complete.

The couple are planning another reception in Vancouver to enable Michael's extended family and friends to attend.

'We are doing one in Argentina and that's for her close family, and then we are doing one in Vancouver,' Bublé has confirmed.

Their married life did not get off to the best of starts though. The day after their wedding the couple heard that their Buenos Aires home had been burgled.

It is thought that while the couple were enjoying their lavish party - which was highly publicised in the bride's home county - on the outskirts of the city, thieves were breaking into their house.

But Luisana defiantly said upon returning to their home to inspect the damage: ‘I will not let this ruin the happiest day of my life.’

Kelly Brook tells of love for Thom Evans as she shows off her pregnancy curves in new shoot

The world was stunned when Kelly Brook announced she was expecting a baby with boyfriend Thom Evans after just three months of dating.

But while Kelly has admitted the pregnancy wasn't planned, she insists she wouldn't change her situation for the world, and is thrilled to have found 'the One' in former rugby player Thom.

Kelly's revelations come as she shows off her pregnancy curves in a tight leopard-print swimsuit as incredibly muscular Thom struts his stuff in the background of the exclusive shots taken in Portugal for Hello! magazine.

Kelly, 31, told the publication: 'That is what happens when you are in love - you surrender to whatever is to be. It wasn't a plan, but if it happened, it happened. We were boyfriend and girlfriend.'

And in her first interview since announcing the pregnancy, Kelly said the couple have been inseparable since meeting in a London nightclub last November.

She said: 'We have spent virtually every day together ever since. There was no game-playing, which is why I think our relationship progressed so quickly, because we haven't had to deal with egos.

'I love Thom and Thom loves me. We love being together. It is as simple as that.'

Kelly's confidence in her relationship with Thom comes after splits from actors Jason Statham and Billy Zane as well as Thom's former teammate Danny Cipriani, from whom Kelly split last summer.

But model Kelly said she knew instantly that Thom was 'The One'.

She said: 'I immediately felt he was The One, and I have never felt that before. That has something to do with my age. I didn't want to waste my time with someone I wasn't sure about - it was Thom.'

And while her pregnancy might not have been planned, Kelly says she always knew having a family with Thom was a part of her future.

She explained: 'This baby is not the result of me suddenly becoming broody because I have hit my 30s. It is simply that I have met someone that I am happy to share that responsibility with.'

Kent-born Kelly has been in Los Angeles since the start of January, working on a number of modelling assignments and campaigns, including coming up with designs for a new maternity range for high-street chain New Look.

Former Scotland international star Thom is a former teammate of Kelly's ex Cipriani. He joined Kelly in the U.S. shortly after they met and has been taking acting classes.

Evans played for the London Wasps with Cipriani from 2004 to 2006.

However, the Zimbabwe-born sports hunk was forced to quit his career as a professional rugby player after he suffered a horrific spinal injury. He is now hoping to become an action movie star.

The first pictures have emerged of LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's sunset wedding ceremony.

The pair exchanged vows in front of just 40 guests at their seafront home in Malibu, California, on Friday evening.

The country singer, 28, wore a Reem Acra gown that was slashed to the thigh and carried a large bouquet of white flowers.

The groom, 37, who appeared to wipe away tears as they said 'I do', opted for black trousers, a white tuxedo jacket and open-collared white shirt for the occasion.

Their garden was decorated in rose petals and pillows that included phrases 'My whole heart for my whole life' and 'L & R', trimmed the outdoor furniture.

Some insiders have already pointed out a few similarities between Cibrian's first and second wedding - his ex wife Brandi Glanville wore a dress by the same designer in 2001 and they also wed in a seaside ceremony in spring.

Glanville , who has had several public feuds with Rimes, today insisted she wished the couple well.

She tweeted: 'I'm very happy that my children will have consistency in their lives while on their father’s time.'

Cibrian referenced the failed marriage in his wedding speech to guests, which included his seven-year-old Mason and four-year-old Jake.

The actor said: 'Someone loves the f****** microphone and that's me! We've both had much larger weddings before, about 100-150 people both, but we just wanted our closest of friends and family here with us tonight.

'The next one will be ever smaller though,' he joked.

'I love you all,' Rimes added: 'Now let's have some cake, bitches!'

Yesterday the newlyweds continued to celebrate their marriage, enjoying a meal at Malibu's Moonshadows restaurant with family and close friends.

And the couple couldn’t have looked more in love they indulged in a very public display of affection.

The pair arrived in a classic Chevy corvette convertible to start the day off in style.

Rimes was dressed in a revealing white crocheted Pucci dress with a plunging neckline and shielded her eyes from the sunshine in a pair of classic Ray Bans.

Eddie, who couldn’t take off his eyes off his new wife, was dressed in a checked shirt and navy trousers for the occasion.

The couple's wedding ceremony was held just days before an American TV channel will air an interview with Rimes, which sees her opening up about her 'messy' extramarital affair with Cibrian.

The singer, who began seeing Cibrian behind Sheremet's back, has admitted making mistakes and said she hadn't been taught how to 'let go the right way'.

'I have the strength [now] but I didn't at the time,' she said.

'It got really messy but I have learned a lot from that. I'm not glad it happened but I know why it did.'
Rimes married backing dancer Sheremet in 2002, but they separated seven years later after the singer cheated on him with her Northern Lights co-star.

The affair also ended Cibrian's eight-year marriage with wife Brandi Glanville, the mother of his two children.

Speaking to the Great American Country channel, Rimes confessed: 'I know I didn't do it the right way.

'I didn't have the tools to know how to do it the right way, how to let go the right way. I'd never been taught that.'

Rimes and Cibrian got engaged in December, when the actor proposed with a five-carat diamond ring from jeweller Brent Polacheck. The same designer crafted their wedding bands.

By royal admission: Princess Diana, who died aged 36 in August 1997, acknowledged her affair with the former household cavalry officer after her divorce from Prince Charles

Rumours later circulated that Hewitt, not Charles, could be the father of Diana's son Prince Harry.

But the ex-army man has claimed the young Prince was born before he and Diana began their affair.

Hewitt has always denied that he is the father of Prince Harry

'No I am not,' he said, when asked once again whether he was Harry's father. 'I am not happy talking about it. It's out of respect for everyone.'

Hewitt came under fire for trying to sell love letters he received from Diana for £10 million.

He also helped write a book about the Princess following her death, but insists he still misses her.

'I think we all miss her,' he said. 'But I've tried to move on with my life.'

The full interview with Hewitt airs in the United States today.

It was revealed last week that Hewitt is to trade upon his increasingly tenuous links to the Royal Family by throwing a Royal Wedding party at his bar in Spain – with himself as ‘guest of honour’.

He has been living in Marbella in exile after his scandalous attempt to sell her letters for £10 million.

The ‘comeback cad’, as he’s been dubbed, has cheekily given his approval for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding and is planning a lavish Royal-themed day at his bar, Polo House, on April 29, complete with a big screen showing the ceremony.

Diana admitted to having the five-year affair during her sensational Panorama interview in 1995.

He first met Princess Diana at a party in London's Mayfair in 1986. She was 25, he 28.

Although six years ago, he was hypnotised for a television programme in which he 'revealed' that his affair with Diana had begun earlier than he had previously stated, commencing in 1982, not 1986 - before the birth of Prince Harry.

My story: In another interview on Larry King Live in 2003, Hewitt discussed his relationship with the princess, the controversy over his going public with her personal correspondence and recent press reports of his attempts to auction the letters

When they met, Diana was in the middle of a famous 39-day trial separation from her then husband Prince Charles.

Diana took Hewitt on as a horse-riding instructor for her and her two sons. Their relationship lasted until 1992 when Diana is reported to have stopped taking Hewitt's calls.

In 1994 Hewitt broke cover and collaborated with writer Anna Pasternak on Princess In Love, a sordid account of his affair with Diana.

Diana was said to be distraught by this betrayal, telling Martin Bashir in the Panorama interview: 'Yes, I adored him. Yes, I was in love with him. But I was very let down.'

Hewitt later tried to tried to sell 60 love letters he received from the Princess for a reported £10million.

In 1999, two years after Diana died in Paris, he published his autobiography, Love and War in which he revealed intimate details about his affair.

He told how Diana seduced him and how they made love in her four-poster bed and on a bathroom floor.
