Sophie Anderton and Chantelle Houghton dazzle at the Rock Ball

Chantelle Houghton paraded around London last week in a dress made of lettuce leaves for a PETA campaign.

But there was no salad in sight last night when she attended a glitzy charity ball in London.

The Celebrity Big Brother star went head to head with Sophie Anderton for best dressed as the women both dazzled in silver gowns at the RPJ Crohn's Foundation Rock Ball, held at the Hurlingham Club.

Sophie, 33, was elegant in a satin gown by Australian designer Tarvydas with a slit up the leg a plunging neckline and carried a Shana of London clutch bag.

The model's simple dress and curled hair evoked an old Hollywood glamour style which was added to with £60,000 of jewellery by Susannah Lovis.

Meanwhile, Chantelle, 27, went for an intricate peekaboo gown with sequins and a tulle fishtail skirt.

The silver sirens were joined by Olivia Inge and designer Melissa Odabash at the glitzy event, which was held to benefit The RPJ Crohn’s Foundation to raise funds in support of Crohn’s and Colitis UK.

Model Olivia stood out in a bright red dress which showed off her cleavage and grey platform heels, while Melissa wore a very skimpy short white dress.

The RPJ Crohn's Foundation was founded by rocker Rick Parfitt Jnr, son of Staus Quo guitarist Rick Snr, who was diagnosed with the disease as a child.

Rick, 36, formed the foundation two years ago after suffering with the horrific illness for much of his life.

'I just want people to be able to understand what Crohn’s is so sufferers are not embarrassed to talk about it,' he told The Telegraph this month. If ultimately we can help find a vaccine or even a cure then that would be amazing.'

Top Gear's Richard Hammond is a big supporter of the charity and hosted tonight's event. Rick's friend Sophie organised a fashion show, while Status Quo performed.
